Helix8, working with C-TECH, delivered Phase 1 of a trial for nutrient recovery from agricultural slurry within Northern Ireland as part of the SBRI competition. This initiative addresses the environmental challenges of livestock waste management while recovering valuable nutrients for agricultural use.
Challenge
Agricultural slurry management presents significant environmental challenges in Northern Ireland. Excess nutrients from livestock waste contribute to water pollution and environmental degradation. Finding sustainable ways to process slurry and recover nutrients is critical for the agricultural sector.
